They made us all proud with their enacting of the poem, their singing and their readings. What an inspirational example of our value of Koinonia, living as a community, a family!

Year 5 Residential Educational Visit to Brancaster (8 images)

For the first time, Year 5 class went on a residential trip to Brancaster, Norfolk, from 16 - 18th September 2015! This was a very exciting adventure for all of us! We made rafts which we tried in the bay. We built raft models and checked if they could float with weights on. We explored the salt marshes and played in the sticky mud! We learnt about the local habitats and the adaptation of the animals. We saw some lovely seals on the shore of a small island in the bay! We have great memories from our bbq and the bedtime stories that Mr Hickman read to us!

Yesterday children from St Michael's, St. Ann's, Holy Trinity and St Paul's and All Hallows gathered together for their annual LAT service at St Ann's church. The theme of the service was Corpus Christi. All the children have prepared either prayers or posters of the Christian Values, which we then joined together with paper chains. This was an exciting team activity symbolising our togetherness and an excellent example of koinonia.

Ascension Day - 14th May 2015 (16 images)

Cold Spring rain did not manage to dampen St. Michael's enthusiasm for Ascension Day. The balloons went up into the grey sky carrying some very touching prayers written by our children.

Ian Probert's Visit (4 images)

Mr Probert, the author of some very famous books, read extracts from his recently published children’s book Johnny Nothing, which was full of humour, some of it quite dark! The story line whetted our appetite for the book: the poorest boy in school has just inherited £1 million. But there is a catch: if he can hold on to his cash for a whole year, he will earn ten times that amount. It was lovely listening to his first-hand experience and advice about how to write a story. The four questions that any writer should plan their story around are a very useful writer’s tip. We enjoyed the assembly, especially the game of summarising a book in one sentence and the badges!

World Book Day Assembly (35 images)

Yesterday we celebrated World Book Day with a special assembly. The children of St Michael's Primary demonstrated their love of reading by dressing up as their favourite book character. The judges selected the winning costumes from each class. The prices were books!
