Our curriculum is designed to cater to the diverse needs of our students, ensuring that each child receives personalised support to reach their full potential. We encourage exploration and creativity, allowing children to learn through play while building confidence and social skills.

We believe that strong partnerships with parents are vital to a child’s success. Throughout the year, we offer various opportunities for parents to engage with our school community, including workshops and open days. Autumn Term Knowledge Organiser

The following documents are Knowledge Organisers. They contain key facts and information that the children need to have as a basic knowledge and understanding of the topic – giving them the ‘bigger picture’ of what they will be learning at school.

Daily Phonics

Letters and SoundsAt St. Michael's, we believe that every child has the potential to become a fluent reader and writer. Phonics is a key tool in achieving this goal. We teach reading through the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised programme, a systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) approach.

Starting in Nursery and Reception, our phonics instruction helps children build a solid foundation in the alphabetic code. This early start ensures that as they progress through school, they master the skills necessary to read and spell confidently.

To support your child at home, here you will find various resources that demonstrate how to say sounds and write letters correctly. Additionally, you can access useful videos to see how phonics is taught at school, giving you the confidence to assist with your child's reading journey
